I am not sure of the best way to get the information out but this will be a good starting point.
We are expecting a child, so we registered at a few stores so that family and friends could buy us gifts if they wanted to. We chose Target, Toys "R" Us, and Wal-Mart (a few people had requested this one) to register for gifts. Normally, if you get a duplicate item a store has no problem returning the item for store credit...even if you don't have a receipt. We've never had a problem returning wedding gifts or baby gifts until today.
We approach the Toys "R" Us counter to find out that we are out of luck unless we have a receipt. That means that someone is suppose to give us a gift, as well as a receipt in order for us to be able to do anything. No receipt then no store credit, even if the item is on the registry. I could understand no cash back, but no store credit is just crazy.
I told them that I would no longer shop at a store that had such an assinine policy, and I would do my best to tell everyone I could to do the same. So here's me telling the general public.
Their website said that I could get a customer rep 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I Guess that 9pm on Sunday night doesn't fit into that because it says they are closed.
I would like to ask everyone to email, call, or whatever else to see if we can get this stupid policy changed so that I can actually shop there again.
I'll update this as I get more info.
